This year when you need to show appreciation for someone or even just let them know that you care to skip the traditional thank you gifts, like http://www.thebasketspot.com/thank-you-c-40.html, and give the gift of fruit. Give the person you admire most and are most grateful to a gift that is not only beautiful but delicious as well. Of course by this I am speaking about the gift of a beautiful fruit bouquet dipped in sweet chocolate sauce. Read the rest of this entry »

Grocery store produce departments are convenient and offer a huge selection of fruits and vegetables. Many stores offer locally grown produce when it is in season and available. These days most stores have an organic produce section within the larger produce department so it is curious why anyone would go to the trouble to grow produce. Read the rest of this entry »

I’m feeling guilty already. My husband’s brother and wife live 4 hours away and they have invited us to spend Easter weekend with them. It was very nice of them to invite us, but we have 3 small children… all boys, and I fear they don’t know what they have gotten themselves into. Hence the guilt! Our kids will get along great, but the noise, the mess, all the cooking! It makes my head spin. I’m thinking of a way to pay it forward so to speak. I want to say thanks before we get there. Hopefully my kids will behave and it won’t be an “I’m sorry” gift. I was looking around for some gift ideas and then I found something perfect for them. It was a wine gift basket. When I saw it I knew instantly they would think it was fantastic.
The one I chose was a Gourmet Easter Wine Gift Basket that features a trio of Kendall Jackson Vintner’s Reserve Premium Collection of wines. In addition to the three bottles of wine, the Easter Gift Basket is filled to the brim with lots of gourmet cheeses, crackers, candies, and includes 23 items in all! This thing is packed. The kids will love some of the sweets, but the wine will soothe any adult who has frayed nerves. We can all sit down and relax and have a glass of wine or two. I’m starting to feel like a genius for thinking of this. Even my husband agreed this was right thing to do. You feel good when you come up with a solution to a small problem.

I found a wolf charm recently that had such an incredible face; you could see the intelligence of the animal by looking at the eyes – very expressive! I love all silver animal jewelry, but specifically I’d been searching for the perfect finishing touch to complete my wild jewelry charm bracelet, so I was thrilled when I followed a friend’s recommendation to check out this online jewelry store. Whenever I add something to my silver bracelet, I am reminded that one day my daughter will inherit it, and it encourages me to hold out for the best of the best. Read the rest of this entry »

Working in a local hardware store I get many questions in regard to fences and fencing options as well as decks. Since spring in right around the corner, I want to talk about one of the options that I feel is imperative to the long term use of any fence or deck; post caps. There are a lot of options and one of my favorites is using metal toppers. I personally have the Cambridge Copper Top Post Cap on my fence and deck posts as my wife loves the way the copper looks. Looking for a great gift this holiday season for your guy? If so, there are many great Christmas gifts for men that you can find online. From practical to personal, you’ll find just the right gift for your special guy.
Here’s an idea, hows about some engraved cufflinks? These are typically worn just for more formal occasions but many men secret love cufflinks. When the cufflinks are engraved, they are uniquely his and class up any suit.
A more practical gift is a money clip or wallet. Some guys are wedded to their wallets but others love the sleek design of a well constructed money clip. My husband is a wallet guy but my friend’s husband just loves his money clip that she got him one year. This is another gift that gets even better if you engrave his name or initials in it.
My favorite stomping ground for great guy gifts is The Golf Collection. This online shop never disappoints me. Great prices and great selection and most importantly great customer service (try calling sometime they are so helpful) means that shopping for my man is always an easy task.

Aviator sunglasseshave had their ups and downs as far as popularity, but have become a staple in the sunglass fashion industry. A famous movie made them a hit before and once again they have become the rave for good reason. Not only do they have an awesome unique style, they are also very functional when it comes to UV protection against the sun and wind. They tend to be slightly bigger in stature which covers the face and eyes immensely giving whoever wears them a huge barrier against the elements. Read the rest of this entry »

I think ladybugs are sweet! It’s funny, but cute ladybug jewelry is one of the best things to wear in the spring and summer. The colors go with just about anything, and they really are striking! From ladybug earrings to a ladybug pendant, you can get totally decked out with this strangely adorable beetle. How many of us freak out when a ladybug lands on your hand? Not so many. I would tend to go “Aww, how sweet!” rather than “Eeek!” A freaked-out reaction would be more applicable to a cockroach or a spider landing somewhere on your body. Read the rest of this entry »

The Texas Holdem poker game needs good quality clay chips to play with and if you are hosting the game regularly, you will not be satisfied with the plastic chips and would like to have good quality ones. If the texture of the chips is real, it increases the enthusiasm of the game, which gets doubled with the sound that it makes when dropped on the poker table. Read the rest of this entry »

Have you ever had an area in your yard that you just don’t know what to do with but you know you need to do something? Well I might have a couple of easy, inexpensive solutions that will work in nine out of ten areas in your yard or garden. The first is using flower pot stakes as a way to bring color and balance to the space in question. These can be placed at different heights so have the ability to situate them wherever they will look the best. Since they simply are staked in the ground, they are easy to use as well. It is not always easy to make a selection from a list of high speed internet companies. The main reason for this is that when numerous companies make excellent offers, it is tough to center on a decision. That is why it becomes necessary to compare high speed internet providers. When looking at DSL providers like At&t and Verizon, there are many great benefits to both services. These are, after all, major providers of internet service and understand exactly what their customer base needs and wants from their services. However, AT&T does deserve some recognition for the high level of quality and choice it provides its customers. Read the rest of this entry »

If you attend a wedding reception, anniversary party or other posh event, sparkling champagne adds a touch of luxury, indulgence and sophistication. Such a regal beverage should be drunk from the proper glass – don’t you think?
Champagne is best known for its wonderful golden color and tiny bubbles. Those tiny bubbles this this drink made in the Champagne region of France a unique character very different from other wines. A drink this regal truly deserves to be fully savored and enjoyed and to do that, you need a glass that will help you to smell and taste all the nuances of this regal drink. That is where the Champagne toasting flute steps up to the job. The tall, thin glass is an icon of celebration, but the shape is based on usefulness over art. The flute offers a very small surface area at the top for bubbles to escape from poured champagne. The steep sides help prevent bubbles from attaching to the sides. So these tall glasses aren’t just graceful to the eye, they keep your bubbly bubblier.
One of the more common events to use a champagne toasting flute is at a wedding. These flutes are often engraved with the names of the bride and groom which makes them a treasured memento of the event for years to come. And often you’ll find that the reception is also adorned with an engraved wedding cake server. In fact, these are often sold together at many fine wedding shops. You can find a great selection of both toasting flutes and wedding cake servers at Eye Candy Gift.

A marvelously unique sterling silver Jack Russell Terrier pin just popped up on my radar screen of awareness today. Made by a crafts person in the United States, I think it perfectly captures the personality of this lively little breed.
