I do a lot of the cooking in our family. Over the years I’ve accumulated an assortment of pots and pans to use, some purchased, some gifts, and some hand-me-downs. One of the items that I inherited when my mom moved and downsized her kitchenware collection was her old colander. It was nothing fancy, just a brown, heavy-duty plastic colander. But it worked and money was tight, so that was fine by me. As time has gone on I’ve upgraded my cookware pieces as my budget allowed and recently I finally splurged and bought a new stainless steel colander.

I’ve certainly discovered what a difference having a quality cooking tool can make in my results. My old colander would constantly clog up when I was draining my pasta and vegetables, and keeping it clean was quite a chore. Not only does my new stainless colander work like a charm, it looks fantastic too. And even better, it is dishwasher safe so clean up is a snap. Easier to use and easy to clean up – it’s certainly been one of my better kitchenware purchases.
